Convenient, but really needs a latching switch

Posted by Tim on 3rd Mar 2026

More convenient than firing up the compressor and dragging the hose around the vehicles - just add a battery and away you go. Automatically cuts off when the preset pressure is reached, but it really needs a trigger lock/latch so you don't have to hold the trigger the whole time (which usually means bending down or sitting on the ground next to it).

    Trigger needs a lock-on function

Posted by Tim on 19th Feb 2026

Good little compact portable unit, but it's a bit of a pain that there isn't any way of locking the trigger in the 'ON' position, so you have to sit there and hold it until it reaches the set pressure. Other brand inflators let you start it and not have to hold the button down until it automatically shuts off when the set pressure is reached - even my Makita sander has a lock-on trigger, why not this thing?

MAKITA INFLATOR 18V DMP181Z SKIN ONLY

It works great. I use it to inflate the tyres on my cars. It will pump up a 4WD tyre from 32psi to 40psi in about a minute without using up much battery.
