Milwaukee heated jacket FAQ
How long does it take to charge a Milwaukee battery for a heated jacket?
The range of Milwaukee M12 heated jackets are compatible with all Milwaukee M12 REDLITHIUM™ batteries. There’s a load of different battery capacities, starting with the compact 2.0Ah through to the 6.0Ah M12 battery pack. The larger the capacity the longer it’ll power your jacket, but also the bulkier it is to cart around with you.
The type of charger you use also plays a role in the recharging speed. The Milwaukee Compact charger will charge the Compact 2.0Ah Battery in under 3 hours, but if you invest in the Milwaukee Rapid Charger it’ll charge in as little as 28 minutes.
The best way to get the convenience of this small battery and long lasting heat is to always have a spare battery on hand and charged up and ready to go. That way, whether you own a Milwaukee AXIS™ heated jacket, or one of their TOUGHSHELLs™, you’ll always be toasty warm.
How hot does a Milwaukee heated jacket get?
So just how toasty do heated jackets by Milwaukee get? That’s up to you. Using the One-touch LED controller on the chest of your jacket you can customise the level of heat you need in each of the 3 heat zones—chest, back and pockets (or shoulders for the AXIS™ jacket). If frosty fingers make tasks tricky then dial up the pocket heat to the high setting to thaw your mitts. Craving gentle warmth like the sun on your back while you do a hard day's work? Then set that zone to low and enjoy just enough heat to keep you moving but not sweating.
When you’re using a Compact 3.0Ah Battery you’ll get roughly 3 hours of heat on high heat setting, 5 hours on medium, and up to 8 hours on low heat setting.
Can Milwaukee heated jackets be washed?
Yes, Milwaukee heated jackets can be washed. Before you throw them in, disconnect and remove the battery pack and controller from the jacket, then push the power cord completely into the battery controller pocket and zip it closed. You’ll find the instructions for how to wash a Milwaukee heated jacket on the jacket tag. Simply machine wash on a gentle cycle in warm water, tumble dry on low heat, and never bleach, iron, wring, twist, dry clean, or use cleaning solvents.
How long does it take a Milwaukee heated jacket to heat up?
With the new Quick-Heat function, your Milwaukee jacket is heated up to 3x faster than before, reaching maximum temperature in just 2.5 minutes. When a job needs doing you don’t have time to wait around for your heated Milwaukee jacket to fire up, which is why the Quick Heat function is just the ticket for when you need to warm up fast and get on with your day.
How do you choose a Milwaukee heated jacket?
When choosing which heated jacket will be the right one for your needs there’s a few things to consider:
How much flexibility of movement do you need?
Is wind and water resistance important?
Which heat zone combo do you prefer? E.g. chest/back/pockets for the TOUGHSHELL™ jacket or chest/back/shoulder for the AXIS™ jacket.
Where is best for battery placement? Some jackets have back and front battery pocket options.
What size do you need? It should be snug enough to keep the cold air out, but not so tight it restricts your movement. Check the Milwaukee heated gear and workwear sizing charts for the perfect fit.
