Makita DJV182Z — Cuts Straighter Than My Life Choices

Posted by Greg McKenzie on 7th Dec 2025

This jigsaw surprised me in all the right ways. Smooth, powerful, and somehow manages to cut exactly where I meant to cut — not where my shaky hand was trying to take it. I’ve used it on melamine and timber while building my workshop cabinets, and it glides through like it’s got somewhere fancy to be. Hardly any tear-out, super comfy to hold, and the brushless motor just purrs along. Easily one of the most enjoyable tools in my Makita lineup. If only everything behaved this nicely, life would be a breeze!
