Makita Chainsaw 400mm 36V DUC405Z Skin Only

I purchased this chainsaw for several reasons. One reason was to experience and see if an electric chainsaw was suitable for what I do. The other reason was that I already had 4 x 5 ah batteries. I was pleasantly suprised at the performance of this chainsaw. It is very capable of cutting up to 35 cm logs. The only down side is that the batteries can only run the chainsaw for about 20 minutes, 2 x 5 ah batteries. I'm guessing that if you're cutting smaller logs that the batteries may last another 10 minutes. The only other minor issue is that if you tighten the bar nuts too much then it stops the chain from rotating. You just have to back off the nuts a little bit until the chain moves. If you wanted to cut larger logs and/or longer run time, then you would need to purchase a more powerful unit. Overall very happy with this purchase.

very easy to use and keep clean, cuts like a knife through butter with plenty of power, nice tool.
