If you’re avoiding your power tools because of the mess, a vacuum will be a game changer. Using a broom can be frustrating as dust and debris get stuck to every surface. And if you’ve ever used an “inside vac” in the shed—you’ll know it just isn’t up to scratch.
At Tool Kit Depot, we’re your one-stop vacuum shop—whether it’s for the shed, your workshop or on site. From compact, all-purpose, wet and dry to heavy-duty, we have a vac to suit.
Vacuum FAQ
What is the difference between H class and M class dust extractor?
An M class vacuum is “medium hazard.” This type of extractor vacuum is suitable for general workshop use. For example, if you’re cutting wood or working with plaster, this will do the job.
An H class vacuum is “high hazard” and built for more dangerous tasks. With a filter efficiency of 99.995%, H class models are essential for hazardous materials. These vacs are ideal for dealing with high-risk, hazardous materials such as asbestos and lead paint—which are often found in older buildings in walls, tiles, fences and roofing.
What does a wet dry vacuum do?
A wet and dry vacuum is the jack-of-all-trades in the vacuum world. Not only does it work as a normal vacuum, you can also switch it to ‘wet mode’ which uses water to deep clean an area. With different models to choose from, take into account what you’ll be using your vacuum for: as an industrial design will have more power than a typical household vacuum.
And when you need a wet dry vac that’ll see you through every project, you can’t go past reliable brands such as a Makita vacuum, Husqvarna or Milwaukee vacuum. If we stock it, you know it’s solid!
What is a HEPA vacuum?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air. These vacuums suck up more than your old traditional house vacs. So what’s the difference? HEPA vacuums have better filtration and can lift up all that dust and debris—down to a particle level. If you have allergies or just want a “cleaner clean” in the workshop or shed, this may be the option you need.
It’s important to note that a HEPA filter isn’t the same as an M Class or H Class vacuum. HEPAs are made for low-risk dust and won’t stand up to hazardous materials.
What is the use of a backpack vacuum?
If you’re in the market for a workshop vacuum cleaner, a backpack design is compact, lighter than traditional vacuums, and can be worn like a backpack for easy movement. Simply throw it over your shoulders and get into all those tight areas without lugging the vacuum behind you.
